D.I.C.E. Summit in London: Xsolla Story

D.I.C. E. Summit is an annual multi-day gathering of video games C-level executives that focuses on business and production trends and innovations. The event has been held in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA) annually since 2002. This year, however, it went global for the first time: D.I.C. E. Summit Europe 2013 was held in London, UK.

Xsolla has regularly been attending D.I.C. E. Summit events in Las Vegas, and certainly could not miss a chance to be part of the first European version of the event. Tyler Kim, Director of Emerging Markets, and Sam Gaglani, Director of Business Development, flew to London to join other C-level executives of the gaming industry at D.I.C. E. Summit European premiere.

Organized by Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences and Video Games Intelligence, D.I.C.E. Europe 2013 was a 2-day event full of expert speeches, networking and fun.

The first day of the summit, September 24, was a registration and connect day. D.I.C.E. speakers and attandees participated in a Go-Karting tournament (our Director of BD, Sam, came 8th out of 40 people, and it was great!). The tournament was followed by a mixer party in a “German Chalet”-style bar hosted by Wargaming, it was small and perfect to meet one another.

The second day was basically talks about the most current trends in the gaming industry. We absolutely enjoyed speeches by Wargaming, Crytek, Splash Damage, and CCP CEOs as well as presentations by other expert speakers. The busy day was followed by a casino night, which Sam and Tyler loved.

“It was small — about 20 people — and the atmosphere was very informal. Everyone got a chance to meet C-level people, they were very nice to talk to,” recalls Sam Gaglani.

Xsolla thanks AIAS, VGI and all expert speakers for a great D.I.C.E. debut in Europe.
