Perfect World Partners with Xsolla and Releases Neverwinter in Russia

Last week Perfect World Entertainment debuted on the Russian market by self-publishing its latest MMORPG, Neverwinter.

Neverwinter game

This is an important milestone for the company and for the entire gaming industry, the experience that Perfect World and others will definitely build on in the future. Xsolla is pleased to be part of it.

The new game is based in the fictional Forgotten Realms city of Neverwinter, which is in the state of complete chaos after the disappearance of the Lord of Neverwinter. Players can become one of five classic Dungeons & Dragons character classes and form groups, complete standard quests or create their own and share them with other players. This is a free-to-play game with extra items and advantages available for purchase — mounts, buffs, companions, etc. — in the game shop.

Neverwinter has been fully adapted for Russian players, with localized interface and prices in Russian rubles. This is exactly where Xsolla stepped in to help Perfect World Entertainment understand the specifics of the Russian market and players’ payment preferences. Xsolla billing solution gives Neverwinter players a wide choice of local payment methods, among which are Russian e-wallets, cash kiosks, mobile payments, direct debit, and many more.

In his interview to Kanobu.ru, Gabriel Hacker, director at Perfect World Europe, said: “We partnered with Xsolla to make the payment process of in-game currency (Zen) safe and convenient for Russian players. Thanks to Xsolla and its billing platform, game fans can pay using their preferred local payment methods such as QIWI, YandexMoney, and others.”
